Publications

This is the scientific production due to our research and development work together with research groups of excellence.

Advances in our research on gestational age estimation

September 2021 | The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology MFM publishes our article evaluating the potential of state-of-the-art ultrasound image analysis techniques for gestational age estimation.

First evidence of skin cancer prediction by imaging

Febrero 2021 | The research, which has used dermoscopic images from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC) archive, has confirmed its performance in analyzing and classifying dermoscopic images to differentiate between benign and malignant skin lesions.

Can AI classify common planes in human fetal examination?

June 2020 | The ‘Nature Scientific Reports’ publishes an article in which we demonstrate for the first time that computational models have similar performance compared to humans when classifying common planes in human fetal examination.

Cervical length is shown to be an unreliable measure for detecting preterm labor

March 2020 | The ‘Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine’ publishes an article in which we demonstrate the high subjectivity component of cervical length to detect premature births. quantusPREMATURITY is thus a more effective alternative to predict them.

Advances in our research in breast cancer through image diagnosis

August 2019 | The scientific journal ‘Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology’ publishes a study in which we participate that evaluates the potential of the latest generation ultrasound imaging techniques to evaluate lymph nodes and thus, diagnose breast cancer in a non-invasive way.

The multicentre study of quantusFLM in ‘Nature’

February 2019 | One of the ‘Nature’ scientific journals, ‘ScientificReports’, publishes a multicenter study confirming that quantusFLM predicts fetal lung maturity with the same performance as conventional invasive tests in amniotic fluid. 790 patients from 20 centers around the world participated.

Ultrasound cervical texture analysis predicts premature birth

May 2018 | The scientific journal ‘Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology’ publishes a quantitative study on the analysis of cervical tissue texture use by ultrasound to detect subtle changes in its microstructure. Ultrasound images of 310 women were used.

Published a large multicenter study on the use of quantusFLM

August 2017 | ‘‘American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology’, publishes a multicenter study confirming that quantusFLM predicts fetal lung maturity with similar accuracy to conventional tests that require amniocentesis. More than 700 patients from 20 centers participated.

Does image diagnosis predict fetal lung maturity?

June 2014 | The scientific journal ‘Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology’ publishes a quantitative analysis on the use of texture analysis in fetal lungs by ultrasound to predict neonatal respiratory morbidity. It is performed in 144 newborns.

First tests on the prediction of fetal lung maturity by image diagnosis

December 2012 | ‘American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology’ publishes the first research that evaluates the performance of the automatic quantitative ultrasound analysis (AQUA) texture extractor to predict fetal lung maturity tests in amniotic fluid.
